We are very pleased to confirm that Abuna Elias Chacour will be visiting the South West of England early in May. Abuna plans to visit the South Hams of Devon as a guest of Desktops for Peace. Currently, this means he will arrive on Saturday May 2nd. This is dependent on the availability of suitable airline flights both from and to Israel. This early May plan is of course jeopardised by the Iran War. However Abuna himself remains optimistic the war will end soon and we must share that optimism.
There is a US pilgrimage to MEEI planned for Melkite Easter [12th April]. Their leader will contact us when they know for sure whether they’re able to go ahead. That news will be posted here asap.
Should it go ahead, please God, the plan for Abuna’s visit here is for him to divide his time between the Kingsbridge area and the lovely Buckfast Abbey.
Many thanks for bearing with us at this difficult time and keep checking here for further information.
[Alternatively you can contact our secretary direct – his details are posted on the website ‘contact’ page]
Keep an eye out here for further details once they have been confirmed…
